POSITION DESCRIPTION: International Operations Agent Intern
Boston area office – Needham, MA
Responsibilities: The International Operations Agent will help manage and
support East Coast operations, and will assist the sales team to secure
capital equipment projects, bids, and contracts. The agent will engage
clients, identify Scope of Work responsibilities, evaluate current and
prospective subcontractors (including transport, rigging, and packaging
companies), provide project and shipping cost estimates, and manage existing
customer traffic. Duties may include surveying project job sites, locally
and regionally. The agent will assist or lead in the bidding of projects,
large and small, which will include the costing of the project, profit
determination, and the ultimate bid presentation, formal or informal, to the
customer.
The position incorporates talents from the disciplines of customer service,
project and operations management, purchasing, quality control, finance,
accounting, sales and marketing. The candidate must have excellent
communications skills and be well organized.
The position will interface daily with company management and staff,
subcontractors, overseas partner agents, vendors, strategic business
partners, and, most importantly, customers.
The position will report to the company President, and will be primarily
focused, but not limited to business based out of the East Coast office.
Operations will regularly be of international scope, with projects and
shipment traffic originating or terminating regionally and globally. The
position will entail periodic travel.
Qualifications: The candidate should have educational or field experience in
Supply Chain Management and International Business. Foreign language and
overseas work, study, or travel experience are a significant asset to the
candidate. The candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills and
be an excellent verbal and written communicator. The position requires keen
attention to detail, a high degree of perseverance, and an entrepreneurial
nature.
