SE is too broad, too many topics

Not a hot topic like systems, networking, security, etc.
On the other hand, you don't face the harsh competition like
job candidates in these other fields. Indeed, not many positions
in SE are available if you want to find a faculty position after graduation.
In industry, I think the market for SE graduate is ok, especially
if you focus more on software testing, analysis, or verification.
Just my feeling. Maybe others can contribute their impression.

it is a soft science. not easy to get a handle on things. you probably
have to learn other techniques to be really useful.

THank you so much. In fact, I do not plan to get a faculty in the future.
Maybe I want to be a prof. several years ago, but now I want to go to
industry to earn money. You advise is so precious for me.
