After winning tonight's British Pro Latin Champion, Bryan/Carmen announced
their retirement. Both were crying and so do many their fans. This is the
7th Blackpool Champions and they set a new record.
Michael/Joanne 2nd
Slavik/Elene 3rd

One question, why did Donnie Burns won 14 (or 15) World Championships but
only handful Blackpool? Did he skip some of the Blackpool?

no that's not true.
he and his partner, Gaynor Fairweather (Good last name!), competed from 84-
90 at Blackpool (skipping 89) and claimed 6 Blackpool champions.
They went on to compete until 98, but somehow they never showed up at
Blackpool once more. I guess there is some politics involved, hehe, just my
personal guess.

NO, he won all the titles with the same partner Gaynor Fairweather.

Comparing Bryan and Slavik or Michael is like comparing a King to Princes.
The publicity and influencing power are too much different.

hehe, 1 year ago would be fine too... but from the 2006 video it is so
obvious they were all ready pretty out of breath at the final rounds, and
their style was really out of date comparing with the rest of the couples on
the floor, although they still placed first, it seemed politics played a
big role -- and is it just me or Bryan Watson indeed danced gayer and gayer
in recent years??

Slavik 肯定巨遗憾， there'll never be a chance to beat Bryan on the floor...
which, on the other side, might have contributed a bit to Bryan's decision
to retire. It is better now than when Slavik champions.

out of date not, i don't know. but u are right, they were out of breath in
the Jive final! in fact, pretty funny to see that part of Blackpool 2006 on
video.
