As title, or it can only be on NT? Thanks in advance.

Do you mean as a server? Maybe I didn't make my question very clear. I know there will be no problem to run it as a client. But how about server? Thanks again.

I installed MS SQL Server 7.0 Chinese Version on my PWIN2K-Server and it runs quite well. However, it is said that SQL Server 2000 beta is now available in some warez site. BTW, I cannot see any reason why it runs best on win2k?

that's because Win2K is far more stable and scalable than NT4. The TPC world record was held by Oracle half a year ago(?), then by SQL Server 2000 on Win2K in June, now by DB2 on Win2000 (submitted on 7/3) Check http://www.tpc.org/new_result/ttperf.idc note this is by PERFORMANCE only - not to mention PERFORMANCE/PRICE where we all know MSFT beats every other vendor.

Yes, for tpc-c benchmark. I am just wondering why DB2 can achieve sth like this. It is the most slowest DBMS server in the world, :-) Tghe server is win2k cluster, which is one of the most advanced technologies MS boast of. But for ordinary PC wihtoug >16 cpu, NT is good enough. For ordinary win2k server, it seems it will consume more memory than its ancestor-winnt4 workstation. So I do not think it will have a better performance if you have less than 256M memory, :-) Actually, I runned TPC-H be
