I am a new user of SQL. I just have a simple question: in a SQL statement:
create table tablename (column1 varchar2(20));
what the 2(20) means? Thanks.

varchar2 is the datatype of the column.
varchar is a built-in data type. I assumed varchar2 is User defined one.
(20) indicate the size
