I try to remove oracle by using oracle installer. However, I found it is still
in my registry and there is still an oracle process running after removal. How
can I clean it completely from PC? It is 8.1.6 or 8.1.7

u can not directly uninstall by installer. there is sth to be
done in advance.
1, shutdown DB
2, delete Service name in NEt8 asistant
3, close all oracle service in control panel
4, now u could use oracle installer to unistall it completely.

Thank you! Those previous services are stopped after I follow your
instruction. However, I met a problem that I still found previous SID when I
install new instance of DB. How can I get rid of those?

coz u did not clear up completely, ur regedit still has
its records. usually it locates under
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE-Software-Oracle, or u can search ur regedit
to find SID for oracle, just delete them, then reinstall will
create a new SID.

I did delete HKEY LOCAL MACHINE-Software-Oracle, but machine still know
previous SID. I check there are some oracle information in registry LOCAL
MACHINE-SYSTEM-ROOT-LEGACY. But I can't delete them. What shall I do?

the SID is saved in a ASCII file. find the file and remark that line. the
installation should be ok. but I don't remember what the filename is.

I got it. the file name is oratab.

use regedt32. select the entry. then from menu security -> permissions...
couple of things you need to clean up manually.
1. delete services hkey_local_machine->current control set->services...
2. delete hkey_local_machine->software->oracle
3. delete hkey_local_machine->current_control_set->enum->root->legacy...
4. delete hkey_local_machine->control_set001->enum->root->legacy...
5. delete hkey_local_machine->control_set002->enum->root->legacy...
6. delete oracle directory from the disk.
