我不是学计算机的，所以我对数据库的了解仅仅限于FOXPRO和ACCESS

现在有一个比较大的项目，需要处理文本的，数字的，各种记录，可能几百几千万

我们想把这些记录都做成电子格式，可以让别的用户在网络上搜寻，

是不是只能用商业数据库软件实现：比如ORACLE等？哪些软件可以实现这样的功能？

可以找到盗版吗？

我以前用了很多SAS，有时也在UNIX下面用PERL，我想问的是，如果仅仅是自己整理，

搜索，管理数据，是不是用UNIX PERL就可以

oracle can do this.
I won't suggest you use
盗版 software for business use.
You will get yourself and your company into trouble.
Oracle has free DL on it swebsite, but you can only use it to develope your
own application.
It is not legal to use it hold data or process data.

Depends on you project requirement. If you're concerning about
budget, try MySQL or PostgreSQL
Using a database system has a clear advantage than simply using
plain file or filesystem, in both the term of efficiency and data security.

Can MySQL process huge dataset?
