I am going to do research on data base and data mining. But I am new to this
field. try to read some paper feel so slow.请教各位：
1. which field is the most promising on database or datamining.
2. please recommend me to read some classic paper.

Readings in Database Systems - Third Edition - edited by Michael Stonebraker and Joe Hellerstein, Morgan Kaufmann Publisher
This is a book which contains all the famous database related papers
