XP mysql uninstall problem

I failed the installation of mysql. I guess the reason is that IE is opened
when I installed, so I want to uninstall it first, but I get the error msg:
The log file 'C:\mysql\uninst.isu' is not valid or the data has been
corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue
I can't uninstall it from then, please help :(

Why do you install it in the first place?
Mysql for win has a zipped release.
Anyway, I guess now you have to go to reg table to delete mysql manually.
All in all, installshield sucks.
