请问Teradata database的工作机会多么？

请问Teradata database的工作机会多么？# Database - 数据库

公司最近让我学习Teradata，可能以后要专注于这方面的工作。这是个什么东西啊？在
网上google了一把，好像是个独立的产品。请问学会了这个以后跳槽啊什么的工作机会
多么？对career path有帮助么？

你们公司做什么的？如果是fortune 500有钱就会用这个产品，如果没钱，小公司很难
承受这个产品的价格，如果是政府，很多部门开始使用这个产品（联邦），你们公司
让你学这个是准备怎么用你，这个要搞清楚，做Developer随便一个数据库平台都可以
，做DBA那就不一样了

Our company is a big 500 company. And my manager asked me to learn to do
development on that platform. I don't know if such experience would help my
career later.

Teradata 在整个数据库市场只占4%.

It will help. Even though teradata does not have "huge market share" but
their customers are usually huge. Development on Teradata platform is not
quite different from other platforms, rather the technology behind the
scene is significant different. When you say development, there are a
lot of things can be called development. For data modeling, profiling, ETL
and etc, teradata is different, for application developing, it is quite
transparent just like everybody else(you got macros, store procs,
