大概才开始了一个多月吧，做了耳环7副，书签2个，手链一条，全部是sterling
silver, gold，施家水晶，珍珠，淡水珍珠，买原料花了200左右，当然家里还有一些
水晶珠子，珍珠，wire剩余。
感觉这个hobby真是不便宜。
还好BF大力支持，给我买了书和一些wire，还不时拿我的blog首饰的照片跟家里人show
off。不过他是看见我有个爱好就盲目支持的那种人！

engineering的课程对找工作会有帮助吗？

的确是很花钱的hobby, 我自从迷上做首饰后, 前前后后估计花销快上万了:(((
还有最近兴趣有所减落, 要不然christmas又要借口狂买一通了!

我也是，我就不说花了多少了，反正比饭钱多。本来想买便宜的，一不小心就买多了。
做完了也不知道怎么用。平时都很少带的。又懒的卖。结果搞了一大包首饰不知道塞哪
里好。

etsy^^
kittybaby- same here, spent a lot, for a hobby that i have started less than
6 months ago... and when i see pretty beads, like when I was in thailand, i
spent over $1000 on buying the beads.... luckily, so far I have resell 2
strands of tourmaline on etsy....
bonvivant- i also started noticing this is an expensive hobby, and honestly
with 2 pairs of ear holes, I cannot keep up with the number of earrings I
made...

我也使不热衷于戴首饰的人，平时戴的只有一条项链，因为不用每天拿下来那么麻烦。
不过我现在还是很有热情做首饰，还在起步练习阶段，有人喜欢我就送了，不敢拿出来
卖。

haha, I also gave away my works in the beginning to others too... but my
friends circle is limited here.... and
most of my gf has at least one piece of my jewelry.
have you think of going to craft fairs?
I am thinking of going there once and that's an excellent way of selling
your work and also getting feedback
from people too!
in harvard square there is an artist co op, and i asked them for consignment
. first there is a committee that
will decide (you will need to pay for a non refundable $50

偶也花了快两千了。这还是在以前当学生和现在基本没收入的情况下。LG很支持，有时
候觉得自己太不懂事了...
话说，贵金属现在更贵了... 从银15刀/盎司的时候就等它降价，结果天天涨，等到了
18~19刀的时候所有网站的都涨价了...555

do you use gold filled?
i created some pieces with gold filled but the consignment store wouldn't
take them.
The reason behind this is, people will get allergic reactions with GF. So
the store said, if you want to use gold,
use real gold.... and I was thinking.... oh my gosh, real gold is really
going to be $$$$$$
so I am just staying with silver, no complaints...

嗯，偶现在绝大多数是SS，少量的GF。（最近财政太危机，都考虑往clay转了..55）
其实14kGF只要外层不磨掉，跟14k solid gold对皮肤应该是一样效果吧？而且GF是
supposed to 外面金层 last life long的... 偶觉得那个店就是吹毛求疵。他们要
vermeil吗？要记忆金属吗？MM说的50%，是价格的一半还是benifit的一半？太黑了！
偶gg说等将来偶们有钱了，他就去哪哪街给偶租间店面....不知道能不能有那一天，嘿

well, i had the same logic as you! I thought GF are supposed to be much
thicker of a real gold layer on the
outside. but then I also read from somewhere that this outer layer will be
gone like in 5-10y ears time...
but then the jeweler I am dealing with sell diamonds and expensive jewelry
for years, so she probably know
better than me. So I will just stick with sterling silver to be safe, if I
want my work to be sold...
50% of the selling price will go to that artist co-op. So I think it's not a

既然这样的话，那么大概他们说的是对的吧。但是一个人那么多耳环，谁还真可着一副

one thing i learn from the jeweler is, if you use white gold in your piece,
eg, pendant, and pick a color stone
like ruby, the white gold will "dilute" the color of the reds. So usually,
they will plate a thin layer of yellow gold
in the inside of the pendant because yellow gold brings the color out more
vibrantly....
yes, about the store, let's add oil 向夢想進發!
so basically i didnt go with the the artist co op place. I sell at etsy...
even traffic is slower, at least u can
control ur own profit..

50%,太过分了。以前我住Oregon的时候，Saturday market就只要一天几块钱而已，我
那时候买了好些好玩的耳环，戒指。
开店哪！我准备开网店！不过现在作品不多，再过些时候吧（我已经好久没做网站玩
啦，那是我另一个爱好呀！不过我只是喜欢做，定期跟新我不喜欢）。
Osaw,我没去过任何craft show呢，但是我住Newton，我们每年有artist open house，
你可以把东西放家里，人家有兴趣会来看。

I started my Etsy store maybe about 4 months ago, so far there are sales....
but I have started to list the
strands of loose stones I bought from my recent trip to thailand, and those
