Patricia St. Peter
President, U.S. Figure Skating
20 First Street
Colorado Springs, CO 80906
Dear President Patricia St. Peter:
The Chinese Alliance for Equality, an organization dedicated to protecting
civil rights and promoting racial equality, along with Japanese American
Citizens League, is writing to express our concerns over the choice of
Ashley Wagner for the United States Winter Olympic team over Mirai Nagasu
despite Wagner’s fourth-place finish.
We are very concerned about the USFS' decision because it is completely
unprecedented. In the past, the results of the Nationals have never been
ignored in selecting Olympic athletes. The only exception is when the naming
athletes were unable to participate due to injuries.
Figure skating is a very popular sport around the world. For decades, Asian
Americans have contributed tremendously to this beautiful sport, and many
iconic figures, such as Michelle Kwan and Kristi Yamaguchi, have inspired
generations of American young skaters to this sport.
Fair play is a core value for all kinds of sports and it is also a core
value held dearly by all Americans. Our young skaters are trained hard and
their parents expect a fair competition for their children’s hard work, one
free of bias and discrimination.
We hereby urge USFS to seriously reconsider its decision and correct the
mistake, for the best of athletes, fans and the sport. We respectfully wait
on your actions.
Sincerely yours,
Jack Ouyang, Ph.D.

“Big Data”
出“Big Data”三大基本特征:Volume, Velocity, and Variety。
Greenplum,
