really need to add the project file back like we have in the web application
project. Without the project file we can't exclude folders/files from
sourcecontrol and we can't add default namespace. This two things bother me
a lot.

If you create a website project,there is no .csproj file anymore. But web
application project does.

then you just use web project instead of web site.
also, if you use svn client tortoise svn, I think
there is a way to exclude source control file.

website project has its pros and cons, so does web application project.
For the source control part, I am using team foudation server with auto
build. Tortoise is history for me. I do know a trick to exclude folders/
files but it should be just a temporary solution.
