what is BI?
VS2008 can still work with SQL Server 2005, right?

Of course you can use sql server 2005 with vs2008.
Business Intelligence project is an add-in that installed from the sql
server client tools to support design in Visual studio and the one from sql
server 2005 won't work in vs2008.
