I've worked with .net C# for 5 years. 2 years of asp.net 2.0 web
development for a very small company so I did everything for the web
application. 3 years for a very big company as a team member - mostly on
maintenance of a very old windows application + development of new
modules for this application (.net). And recently the product is
transforming into latest technologies like silverlight (out of browser),
prism, c# 4.0, with WCF, WF, etc.
I was excited about the technology transform, but as I browse through
the job posts, I am at a lost where this leads me to.
Almost 99.5% of jobs are in web development, and for the very few
companies doing windows app, they use winform, or wpf (even these are
rare).
It won't be too big a problem for me to pick up web development again,
with asp.net or so, but if I go out to look for another job, how can I
convince the interviewer I can do their job? Also I do not want to start
as junior developer now.
Overall, M$ technologies evolves faster and faster, it also made me more
and more confused as to where all these leads to while JAVA takes up
more and more market share; not to mention what a failure M$ made in
mobile market. (I was thinking of pick up WP7 development, but other
people just suggest I forget about it)..
It seems more and more to me that .NET is just a tool for make a living
and the prospect of its technology influence is dimming day by day.
Any suggestions/comments is highly appreciated -- 拍我也没关系。
