我太太原来是H4，然后接到一个小会计事务所的offer，自己掏钱办了H1B，但是一直都
没有批准，今天那个事务所又说不需要人了。
那么我太太现在是什么身份，H4？是不是需要及时去uscis withdraw h1b的申请？
请指教，非常感谢。

Withdraw ASAP, and she is still on H4.

why withdrawn?
If it is approved, you won't worry about the H1B cap in future and can be "
transferred" to another employer - who still needs to petition a new H1B but
not need to concern cap thing, and apply for it at any time.

unless his wife can find job immediately, otherwise she need withdraw
because she wouldn't want to waste h1b time......

plus, if she cannot find another job immediately, she needs to transfer from
H1b to H4 again, right?

In the H1b petition, when did this petition file ? who is the applicant? who
is the beneficial ? if the employer breaks his promise and withdraw the
offer after filing, he would have to submit a notice to the USCIS that the
employment is invalid anymore,which means the IO would deny this petition.
Anyway, your wife is still H4 before the H1b issued. Did you wife already start to work in this office ? if yes, that means "laid-off before H1b is approved"..if no, it is H1B transfer pending.
