Effective today, we have expanded FBA's inbound shipping options to provide
you with more choices for how your inventory is distributed to Amazon’s
fulfillment centers. You can now choose to combine multiple shipments for a
per-unit fee.
As you may be aware, FBA’s Inventory Placement program automatically
distributes your inbound inventory shipments throughout our fulfillment
network. By optimizing the placement of individual Merchant SKUs, we improve
the customer experience through quicker ship-to-customer speeds and a
reduction in delays caused by regional and local events.
Since launching this program, we have continued to evaluate inbound shipping
requirements and review sellers’ feedback. We recognize that every
business is unique, and a range of shipping solutions may be required for
you and your suppliers. The expanded Inventory Placement program provides
that choice.
Within your FBA account settings, you can now choose from the following
options:
Distributed Inventory Placement: During the shipment creation process,
Amazon will choose the optimal way to distribute your inventory. This may
include multiple shipments for individual Merchant SKUs. Distributed
Inventory Placement is the default option.
Inventory Placement Service: During the shipment creation process, all
quantities of a single Merchant SKU will be combined into a single shipment.
The single shipment is directed to the Amazon fulfillment center selected
by our system. A service fee of $0.30 per unit for Standard-Size units and $
1.30 per unit for Oversize units applies.
