Thanks for your quick response. On the bottom of the laptop you shipped to
me there is a sticker that lists "SERVICE TAG (S/N):9KZ2GW1" and "EXPRESS
SERVICE CODE" with the number 20859266305 above those three words.
Following is the initial question I asked of Amazon on a live chat
yesterday, 8 December 2013.
"I ordered a Dell 15R (i15RV-1000BLK) laptop on 1 December. The laptop was
delivered on 5 December in the afternoon. I didn't open the box until the
7th when I took it out of the box and plugged it in to get the battery fully
charged. I still have not started the computer, but was planning to do so
today. Before I did that I decided to check the model number. On the back of
the laptop it lists Inspiron 15-3521 and DPN PJ8GD A00. I looked up that
item number on Amazon.com and it identified the model as a Dell Inspiron 15
(3521) i15RV-6143BLK and says it has a touchscreen. This is not laptop I
ordered, and it lists a selling price approximately $50 less than what I
paid for the laptop I didn't get. What's going on here? Is this laptop as
good or better than the one I ordered? Is there some way to get $50 back if
I agree to keep this one?"
As a result of the live chat, Amazon sent you an email on my behalf saying I
am willing to accept this wrong laptop if I get a partial refund of $50.
That was sent by Amazon without me seeing the wording before it was sent.
When I read what was sent to you I sent an email clarifying that I may not
be willing to accept the laptop you sent to me, even if I am offered a $50
partial refund. I am in the process of comparing the laptop you sent me
with the one I ordered. I see that the one you sent me has a different
processor in it, which I do not believe is as good as the processor in the
laptop I ordered. I'm still researching this, but should be able to make a
decision in the next day or so.
Do you not have the Dell Inspiron 15 i15RV-10000BLK 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black
Matte with Textured Finish)? If not, why did you send me the Dell Inspiron
15 (3521) i15RV-6143BLK without checking with me to see if I would accept
the substitution you made? If you do have the Dell Inspiron 15
i15RV-10000BLK 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black Matte with Textured Finish), why did
you not ship it to me? And what is your return/refund policy for laptop
computers? I am considering obtaining my new laptop some other way.
