I just realized that Texas is not on the list either, so maybe it would not
be such a good idea to get certified there if you have a choice?

Hi,Laukeen
I am new,I just begin my master of education;however,I don't know much about
teaching in TX public school.My advisor said math education is good for job
if you finish Doctor degree.I am afraid I can handle with a doctoral degree
. I plan to be a teacher. Many people said it would be hard for chinese to
be a teacher in U.S.I hope you give me some information.Thanks

fortunatily, there were nobody told me that chinese have hard time to teach
in the US, actually if there were, I would not to lesson them I still choose
my major, though my English was almost "0" at the time I came to the US.
And I believe that eventually I will be able to teach in the US. like
Laukeen, he or she has taught for a few years, things are getting better and
better, aren't they? My point is that if you want to be a teacher, trust
yourself, you will be a good teacher who use your seco

Yeah, I am a little diffident, especially, these days when I registered the
courses.

Does "INTERSTATE AGREEMENT ON QUALIFICATIONS OF EDUCATIONAL PERSONNEL" mean
we can transfer teaching certificates easily within those states?
However, it seems some of the states vary greatly with reference to
certification requirement.

I would say taking Praxis II, finish your student teaching will be your
safest bet.
As far as which state you go to school for your master's degree, I think it'
s really not a choice for many of us Chinese students. Whichever school
gives the best offer (or ever), we go there. Financial support is still the
no.1 concern as the education programs are all very costly.
