I've worked in a good private daycare before. At the beginning, the mom in the family started taking care of young children around the neighborhood and eventually becomes a licensed home daycare program and keeps expanding. Now it becomes a big family business with two big buildings.

Yes, it is exactly what I want to do. There will be little risk if I start from a family day care home, and when I get more experience, I may consider to expand it. The biggest problem I am facing now is that currently I want to work in a Montessori School as a teaching assisstant, but I have had no Green Card yet, so could you tell me how you find a job there? Thanks!

I was using OPT right after my graduation. Also, many TA positions don't require Bachelor Degree, so they may not be able to sponser your H-1b visa ( I think, but I'm not sure). Think about what kind of day care you want to run in the future. Try to find work in a place where you think your "ideal classroom" will be like so you can learn how to create an environment like that. Also, working in a successful day care that was developed from a home day care may help you learn the tricks of how it b

Hi good2009, I have similar plans too. I am working to become an assistant principal here in my district, maybe next year. Then with some American experience I want to open a school in China, preferably in my hometown :-)
