Strongly Agree... Actually Bilingual teachers are needed every where.
Cassy, looks like you're in NYC... What's the starting salary for
K-12 teachers there... let's say, those with a master degree?

i don't know EXACTLY the pay for k-12 teachers in the city. so you might be
able to search and also to find a number online.
or if anybody on this board is an in-service teacher, you might ask them to
get an accurate number.

"Bilingual" here usually means Spanish and English. I don't know about the
situtaion in NYC though.

What I mean "Mandarin/Cantonese and English" is only limited to the school I
visited. In New York, bilingual refers to Spanish/Eng, Frech/Eng, Italian/Eng,
Chinese/Eng, Korean/Eng... It really depends on where the school is.
