刚刚收到IEEE的通知，我的paper被接受了，但是有些地方不明白，求前辈赐教:
1.需要给编辑写答谢信吗？除了thanks/grateful,还要说些啥?

为什么clears it for production?
3.这是我在IEEE发表的第一篇，我还没有申请过任何membership. 现在申请哪个类型比

Cong! Which transactions is your paper in? I don't think you need to write
any letters. The editing staff will assist you on those publishing issues.
They may give you a proofread copy later when it's ready for publishing.

No need to be a member to publish anything with IEEE.
If you like, a student member is much cheaper than a common one. BTW, the
member fee is/will be higher than before.

Thank you both.
In your opinion,how many papers in IEEE should a Ph.D. candidate publish
prior to obtaining his degree, in other words, she or he is not assumed to
be less qualified ?

Depends on a lot of factors. It varies from 0 to 4 in my former lab for a Ph
.D. .
A guy I felt quite stupid published at least 3. You may say he is a big
water gun but he got a good number and graduated.
That is just a number.
In my opinion, how you consider your publication is more important in some
sense. Some reviewers are not qualified at all. But if you want to get
anything published, you need to bear with them.
Certainly, I agree with another post, THE MORE THE BETTER.
