我也是EE，但是是电气工程的一个分支。。和这个板上讨论的东西有些不同，那怎么没
有电气工程版面呢？

就是power，电气工程是Electrical Engineering，电子工程是Electronic
Engineering，IEEE就是Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 的缩
写啊，所以EE仅指电子工程有些片面了。

那你说咋没有光电版，信号处理版，通讯版，电磁计算版呢。。。
power当然也在这里讨论，只不过topic不多罢了。

power只能算小分支了。
很多学校有ee,但没有power.

遥想当年，在国内，power是单独的系，而且光本科就有四五百号人。
美国学power的人太少了。
毕竟夕阳行业。

Power actually is the oldest branch in EE. Or you can call it the mother of
EE, just like mechanical engineering is the mother of all engineering. In
history, EE in China in the year between 1900-1950 is used to called “电机
工程”, which refers to power systems and machines. The term “电气工程”is
actually derived from the same Janpenese word (Denki) which nowadays is used
to represent a broader sense electrical engineering including all branches.

so what's ur topic? Post it here and it will be discussed.
Actually quite some power guys here on the board.
EE is Electrical Engineer, and covers all area related.
There is absolutely no need to have separate Computer Engineering, Signal
Processing, Electromagnetic, Control Engineering, Optical,
Telecommunication, etc.etc board.
