Now cable and teleco are increasing end-users' bandwidth. So the immediate
issue they need to address is the back haul. they must purchase a lot to
fullfill the customer requirement.

俺觉得目前最急需解决的还应该是access/edge这部分，现在虽然end-user尤其是
triple play的对于带宽需求很大，但是真正能对average back haul bandwidth形成压
力还为时过早，当然这个迟早是要来的。
redback做bras做得不错，不过目前的趋势是dhcp。

俺正好读了这篇文章，comcast boost up cable modem bandwidth to compete Fios.

大概3个月钱，我还读过一个类似的东东．也是说teleco backhaul subscriber ratio
比较低．
所以就想知道谁在这个sector做的好．

I think wireless/cellular is driving a lot of the backhauls. The technology
options used for that type of backhaul are becomign diversified though T1
type connection is still the main stream. am thinking the WiMAX will
probably help on the situations, low cost and flexible

verizon & sprint确实应该是，但是cingular没戏，cingular在这几轮合并浪潮中，几
乎每次都受影响，现在cingular+att wireless+att+sbc+bellsouth都成了一家公司了
，原先att,sbc, bellsouth都有大量的闲置带宽，加上现在的AToM技术，轻松把
cingular+att wireless的data traffic放上去可以

俺觉得可能还是alcatel/lucent, nortel等公司做得比较好，因为涉及到这块儿的人大
部分是这些carrier里做些传统技术的人，虽然现在很多更好的基于IP的技术，但是并
不见得能被接受

是啊，cellular back haul是这些provider的主要开销之一，sprint每条T1一个月费用
是200多，cingular是100多，verizon是几十，几万几十万条T1一年的成本真是乍舌
