it provides 4 priority queues for different traffic.
priority queue is not new, why we need new standard? what's the special for wi

Each Queue uses different AIF value so that it will grab(content) the channel
with different probability. In this way, the Queue with lower AIF value will
get the channel more frequently than other queues.
In the legacy 802.11b/g/a MAC, all the traffic use the same DIFs or SIFs....

I do not remember very clearly.
802.11e is composed of several parts
one of them is mentioned here, prioritize the traffic (Voice/Video/Average/
Background)
another is that AP plays more role in MAC, adopts some polling scheme (improve
from PCF).
There are also more I do not remember.
However, like the 802.11 security, industries has their own proposal WMM (part
of 802.11e).
