本人CS硕士，最近拿到一个Sprint的offer,职位是Network Planner I.
我个人感觉这个工作技术含量似乎不是特别高，可能会比较boring.有没有过来人谈谈经
验。
另外想请教一下过来人这个职位的发展前景如何？将来有可能会提升到什么样的职位?
下面是position description.
The Network Planner I will have experience with IP Carrier class operations
and engineering environment, working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (
ISIS, BGP4, OSPF, etc

Oh, the position is called network planner. From the description, it seems to
involve a lot of network configuration work, more like a network administrator
.

Might be easier to talk about it after you have shown them some contribution.
Then even the worst happens, you have gained yourself some decent experience.
Many factors can come into play here. Like if you have choices right now, you
should talk to them straight. You need to weigh over the factors yourself.
Why don't you try opportunities of other natures? Like a DevTest position?
Just personal comments, take them with a grain of salt.

That might be a problem. But it fundamentally depends on your employer. You
need to talk about it with Sprint seriously (& nicely).

no, it's not a network admin position. the title does seem to be strange, cos
as far as I know, they have design engineers, you won't have lots of hands on
carriers are always the best entry points to this industry. I am supprised
that you call those techs easy, what techs you think are not easy for you? c/c
++? hoho
as a entry level engineer, to work for a carrier is also good, you can
leverage your vendor resources if you are lazy, you can also ask your vendor
resources to teach you whatever y

I can not tell why you said it's a boring job. What's your background?
programmer? This job requires many network knowledges, do you have strong hand
-on experience?
In fact, you can say this is a entry level job, just because it's Network
planner "I", in fact, if I change the title as "Network planner III", it maybe
a hard job and needs over ten years experience, I know some guy do similar
job, but he own some RFC drafts.还是应了中国人的那句老话：初生牛犊不怕虎。
BTW, How much for this position in US? 顺便说一句，看来美国的工作

Suggest you check out the hiring group then you will know better what your
promotion path and chances of gaining various experience.
