I will start my Ph.D (Manufacturing Engineering) study in an northeasten
univeristy (Rank about 50th) this August. My research field may concern
sensor network or supply chain management, all requiring optimization. In
fact, my bachelor major is Computational Science, which is in math
department. The major job in my future research is optimization.
* Based on my background, what kinds of job I find can in USA after I obtain
the phd degree 5 years later?
* If I do want to get job in industrial or

FE=Foundamental Engineering
PE=Professional Engineering
For civil engineering, they are important especially in industry. The plans
need to be signed and sealed. Even for acadamic, PE is plus too.
For other engineering, my understanding is not that much important. Go check monster or hotjobs, to see the jobs you want to have if they need PE.
