Postdoc position at Northwestern University# Engineering - 工程
h*1
1
A postdoctoral position is available in the Environmental/Medical
Microbiology and Chemistry Laboratory led by Professor Yun Wang in the
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northwestern University
http://www.civil.northwestern.edu/people/profiles/wang.html. The postdoctoral research aims to understand roles of redox-active biomolecules in microbial physiology and biofilm development at redox interfaces, particularly with gradients of iron and oxygen. The research will involve combining mutagenesis screen, functional genomic profiling and classical microbiological techniques to tackle down genes that affect microbial anaerobic survival and antimicrobial resistance mediated by extracellular electron transfer reactions between biomolecules and Fe(III).
Applicants should have a strong background in microbial molecular genetics
and functional genomics, with a Ph.D. in bacterial or fungal molecular
biology, microbiology, biochemistry or closely related fields, and must
process excellent communication skills. Research experience with
Pseudomonas bacteria or Aspergillus fungi is desirable.

The initial appointment is for one year; continuation beyond one year will
be based upon performance and funding availability. Interested candidates
should submit an application letter describing qualifications and research
interests/objectives, a full CV, contact information of three references,
and reprints of any relevant publications in a single PDF file to Yun Wang’
s email address (y******[email protected]). Review of applications will
begin immediately. The position will remain open until filled.
Northwestern University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
Women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
