The Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering at Boise State
University is seeking a PhD student to work on projects related to
computational materials science. The projects are focused on developing
models for microstructural evolution in materials. The applications include
functional materials, energy materials, materials under extreme environments
, and advanced manufacturing.
Candidates with background on computational materials science, solid
mechanics, computation mechanics and applied physics are encouraged to apply
. Candidates with masters’ degree are preferred. Background in Phase Field
Modeling, coding, materials modeling, and finite element method is plus. The
candidates are expected to have a strong academic record, and excellent

The position is available for Spring 2018 or Fall 2018. The selected
