Many simple expressions in spoken English, using only the most elementary,
everyday vocabulary, show a variety and nuance of meaning that can take
non-native speakers years to master. Often, it would be more correct to speak
of function and usage, rather than meaning, since it would be difficult to
reduce the significance of these expressions to the any of the literal
meanings of their individual words.
One such little phrase is we'll see.
