just noticed this problem...
the english words taught in china are sometimes not what they mean...
for example, orange. we know this word very early, and think that
it means 桔子. but actually orange only means 橙子,柑子,not 桔子。
tangerine means 桔子。
another example, soup. we say soup is 汤。 but actually soup is not the
汤 we usually refer to. soup is a very dense mixture of vegetable, meat,
beans and water. our 汤 is actually "broth"
