My opinions: 1. it is up to you, maybe it is better to keep the schedule if
the sickness wouldn't hurt you much, but certainly you may request
reschedule due to your sickness and they will understand that;
2. You may ask if they can get refund for the ticket, otherwise tell that
you want to buy the ticket for the rescheduled trip (surely they wouldn't
ask you to pay though)

可以要求重新安排。楼主硬撑着去，效果一般不会好。

最好不要找借口改期啥的。。。发考题们很难凑到一起面试

thank all for your replies. I've cancelled my visit and am working to
reschedule it. It seems fine to the department. They understand that people
get sick, especially in this flu season.
