I have been using Redfin website.
They claim that one can save $7000+ if buying house with Redfin.
How does it work?
Have anybody tried this?

偶去年就是redfin 买的,干净利落,推荐, rebate用来付手续费,多余的会寄支票给你.
就是得自己找贷款.

他们不带你看房子，自己去看open house
不用谈rebate的问题，
价格你自己做决定，会给你CMA report
帮写offer，进contract后会follow 到close，
自己找loan broker
这个是我所知道的，不是实际经验之谈

Personal experience, made two offers with them.
Overall experience was Okay.
Most communications are done through email/fax, some through phone
calls.
It's a good choice if you do most of research by yourself and you are
quite knowledgeable about the process and market.
But if you know nothing about house and the market at all, redfin
probably isn't a good choice.

they do tour the houses with you. you can schedule tours online.
per my experience, the response time is a couple of hours if

Check their web site, their rebate is 50% of their commission.
(they keep at least $5000, but it's hardly a problem in bay area.)
