Here you go:
step1: got a package from early entrance program as early as Feb. It could
be found at school.
That includes self evaluation (like can kid ride a bicycle without training
wheel?), drawing a house, a supporting letter from parents, and
recommendation letter(s) from pre-school teacher.
mail everything backby the end of April.
They will mail the test date on May.
Step2:
Test date:
1. motor skill:
like: give kid an apple, throw it up and catch it for several times.
bounce a basket ball to the kid, let the kid catch it for several times.
2. fine motor:
draw a house:
They give you a package for drawing a house at home, I guess teacher want to
make sure it was drawn by kids, not parents.
3. language:
teacher speak some words, from short one to long one, let the kid repeat it.
These were things that my son remembered. He failed at language. All three
parts should pass 95% to have an IQ test, and IQ should be more than 130,
then qualify for early entrance.
So, this exam is for TALENT kids, since it require that kid to be as mature
as 6 years old to qualify, not 5, the normal entrance age of K.
Anyway, there are some boys who passed the exam and got admitted. But if he
is the smallest one at K class, he will probably got picked easily.
daycare is sweet, but school is quite tough.
