WASHINGTON (AP) -- Homebuyers may get an extra three months to finish
qualifying for federal tax incentives that boosted home sales this spring.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Thursday he wants to give
buyers until Sept. 30 to complete their purchases and qualify for tax
credits of up to $8,000. Under the current terms, buyers had until April 30
to get a signed sales contract and until June 30 to complete the sale.

原来我以为是光驱坏了，结果发现是主板上那个连光驱的IDE接口坏了。主板上还有一
个连硬盘的IDE接口，现在我连着2个硬盘。请问我可不可以从那个连硬盘的接口连上光
驱，如果要连的话，有没有那种可以分叉的，连3个以上的（不知道叫什么，哪里可以
买到，呵呵），因为我已经有2个硬盘了。先谢了啊！

一根IDE线只能连最多两个IDE设备，一个Master一个Slave
不存在你说的分叉连3个以上的东西
P.S.你这机器够古董了
实在要用光驱，买个IDE to USB的转接线，把光驱插到USB上用

they can extend once, why not twice? heihei...
I just bought my house and am biased to wish this can happen.
Even if it didn't happen, I am OK with it because I didn't rush to meet the
April deadline. If it did happen, I would be more than happy to take the
extra $8000 for some home improvement.

我把那个master的硬盘留下，把现在连slave硬盘的那个连上光驱就行吧。不用再设
slave什么的吧-好象光驱上没这个设置。

close after sign the contract?
My understanding is that the three months extension should be like this.
Sign the contract by July 30 and close by Sept 30
From the original April 30 to June 30.
Summer time is slow for the housing market anyway, this extension may add a
little fuel to housing market judging by today's news regarding the
forecloures.

if you signed a contract to build a new home in April, you may have to close
it after august, or you can find a very lousy builder to pile up something
for you for quick move-in.

"The proposal would only allow people who already have signed contracts to
finish at the later date."--meaning a contract signed before 4/30. This will
benefit short sales and new constructions, etc.
