they just shutdown the remote access ? now I have to pay 29$ to access my
own device????
then the device I bought is pretty much a brick.
this thing used to be pretty convenient because it automatically backs up
the phone photos, so I have much bigger space than google photos

你的pogoplug肯定usb口外接活动硬盘吧，拔下来插到电脑就可以了。pogoplug盒子刷
机装debian或其他linux操作系统，网上很多教程。

你是说 salvage 那个盒子？还是说 Linux desktop 上跑类似于 pogoplug 的程序
？我到不爱惜那个盒子，主要是没有 Linux 上类似的成套解决方案（我可以跑个
sshd 然后用 phone Sftp client 上传，但太不方便， pogo 的 phone app 还是很好
用的）

I already have probably 10 single-chip linux computers (Raspberry PI
different versions, many Chinese competitors to RPI...) so I don't really
care about utilizing the pogoplug box .

那随便装个owncloud不就行了，应该差不多好用。

你装 owncloud 成功过么？我试了一下 ubuntu 上已经被人家ban掉了
它自己的tar ball 又没有详细的安装步骤

ok, found it and set it up, trying to find the phone apps now

前两天我提过此事。按说pogoplug只是关了它的云盘服务，pogoplug设备的服务不关
，但
现在pogoplug连不上服务器。
我也是用pogoplug上传手机相片，很方便。不过pogoplug比较笨，在家局域网内它还要
走它的服务器然后在下载到家里的pogoplug上，用双倍的带宽，不直接走内网。
我现在试了很对上传照片的services，目前有俩比较好，btsync和syncthing。这俩在
局域网内直接连接。

我回头看下你说那两个，不过我把 owncloud 装了还不错。
pogoplug 这公司看来是明显风投没钱了，不管它现在说 support 不 support 什么
，肯定很快就树倒猢狲散
