My understanding is that PP for NIW is a waste of time, since you have to
wait for your PD to be current to file 485. Even if your case is approved
now, you might need to wait some time to file 485, then what is the point of
PP (just to get the result sooner)?

It is useful for some cases. For example, if LZ's H1b expires in a month or
