之前收到的denial notice里面说道：generally such honors are not considered to
be national or internationally recognized prizes or awards for excellence
in the field of endeavor because they are generally given to students or
early career professionals in the field. Experienced experts in the field
are not seeking acadmemic awards. As such, student awards like "best paper"
awards cannot be considered prizes or awards in your field of endeavor.
迷惑了，不是说best paper award 能算的吗？听律师说，如果推荐信里面强调best
paper award 是在众多专家学者中选出来的，这个award就可以来证明excellence;
可问题是，推荐信里面已经说明白了，这个best paper award 是从很多国家的学者当
中选出来的；如果IO心里面已经定性了这个 best paper award 不能算contribution,
不能证明excellence,那就意味着 best paper award根本就不能用。

我来回答你这个问题。 简单的Best paper award确实无法claim award本身，尤其是在
两部法之后，就会收到如此RFE。 同样的情形，同样的award, 我师兄申请的时候就
claim
了(我师兄的还只是nominated for BPA)，然后无RFE过。 我申请的时候就收到了BPA(
我是最后的BPA)的 RFE,内容和你是一样的。 所以我特
意在RFE的时候再次提供了另外一封co-chair的RL（其中一个co-chair在首次提交的时
候已经用过）, 来证明excellence。 因为通常会议有best student paper award和
best paper award 两种，你在信里再强调一下，selection pool是在这个领域里面工
作的所有的researchers, scientists,而非只有students or early career
professionals. 当然既然你有bpa，那么你的publication也不
应该差，再好好整理材料，不会有问题的。bless!

突然才看到你的标题，觉得你信里描述和标题不符：）
BPA 本身并不能证明contribution, 两者之间没有逻辑联系。 但是BPA本身确实可以用
RFE原文里所说的， "considered to be national or international recg for
excellence".
这两者之间是个很显而易见的联系。 那么如果要用到论证contribution上去，就需要
你RFE信中的第二部分的描述（你的信里应该有，因为我的有, hehe)
提供下面几个证据:
1) expert testimoney
2) documents to prove that .... commercialized.
3) patents ...
所以，我的建议是再次提交一份推荐信，强调excellence,并且强调你的original
discovery天下无敌，论证了2012 年12月21号 人类相安无事的问题，有很大的
contribution,所以才给你这么个奖。 呵呵

你说的没有错，这就要看是什么性质的会议。 这个时候expert testimony就很重要。
我们的会议是本领域具有international性质的， 我在RFE里面同时提供了之前获得过
BPA的人的背景材料, 现在都是大牛faculty. 所谓瞒天过海啊，呵呵。

我们的会议是本领域具有international性质的， 我在RFE里面同时提供了之前获得过
BPA的人的背景材料, 现在都是大牛faculty. 所谓瞒天过海啊，呵呵。
