We used a router to build up a local network so we could use several computers
at one IP. We copied the MAC address and it did work for while. But after
half hour, the connection was lost. What might be the problem?

try wap method to see see.
but basically, it may be the router's problem,some routers just suck.

you mean wap?
log in to router's setup page.
