Funds with names started with "Spartan" are mostly index funds FSTMX, FSIIX, etc.

But I would suggest you go with Vanguard if you are primarily interested in index funds. A lot more choices there.

I'd go with Vanguard index funds. Although the Spartan (Fidelity) index funds have lower expense ratio than corresponding Vanguard index funds ( Fidelity might be losing money to run these funds to attract customers), their funds are not as tax efficient as the Vanguard funds.
