一个惨淡的爱情故事
大概三千年前,中亚有个国家,Lydia。
国王很爱他的王妃。希腊人一旦用到这个”爱“自,
必然预示很糟糕的事情。因为”爱情“无法控制,
就像一个外来的精灵附体,让人做稀奇古怪的事情。
国王有个宠爱的大臣,Gyges。一天国王问Gyges,
觉不觉得王后很美。Gyges当然说美。可是国王说,
百闻不如一见,你嘴上说美,心理可能不是很服气,
如果不看看王妃的样子-不穿衣服的样子。
Gyges大惊,以为国王试探他。赶忙说,他是从心理
往外觉得王妃很美,不用看了。国王不愿意了,非要
让Gyges去。Gyges知道,不管怎样,麻烦来了。
反正左右都是祸事,不如看看美人。于是他就进王宫
看了王妃更衣。
王妃当然知道,却没有当时发作。她也知道,那是国王的主意。
事后,她约了亲信,招Gyges入宫议事。Gyges知道麻烦来了。
可是有不得不去。王妃给Gyges两个选择,要么Gyges自己死掉;
要么Gyges去杀国王,娶王妃。Gyges不想自己死掉,只好杀王
篡位。
这个故事载于历史之父,希罗多德的名著《历史》。
其实也算不上神话。后来现代人借用这个故事写了小说,
拍成电影《英国病
