I have used some java based wiki systems. Till now I only know of two that
are pretty good, comparable to mediawiki:
1) JAMWiki, open source java wiki system, trying to be compatible with
mediawiki
2) Confluence, commercial product
What's your take on java wiki system? Did you find any other ones that are
good?

i was not happy about the java wiki i picked (not the ones you mentioned),
and resorted back to mediawiki.

I am pretty happy with the confluence installations I have
used, but I haven't had a chance to admin one myself.
There is also Alfresco, which is more of a generic CMS.

I played with JAMWiki, but, still feel the mediawiki to be more robust. So,
in our company, we are using mediawiki unfortunately. The java based wiki
sounds like a good project/market for java developers to make an impact...

Just a wiki system that is programmed using java. There are established wiki
systems such as mediawiki, kwiki, etc. But, most of them are php based.
As a java programmer, I would rather use a java wiki, that way it is
extensible if needed. I am not a big fan of php stuff...

confluence is quite good, I bought it for my job and had it worked great for
30 concurrent users:D

There is a thing called JSPWiki which is now under apache incubation. It
also got some recognition from Sun.
