Looking for a cool java IDE?

The eclipse JAVA programming IDE is a opensource project.
It's really really coooool!
automatic class constructions.
automatic interface implementations.
automatic method hints.
syntax & reference checking while you typing.
structure map, resource map, package map...
and many more you will find out.
I think it's much cooler than codeworrior or Visual J++
Besides, they have executables for various platforms, including
windows, Linux, Sola

I think Intellij IDEA is much cooler than eclipse.IDEA is my favorite, though
eclipse is also a good one.

agree, Intellij IDEA 3.0 is much better,
even eclipse is very good too.

hmm, vi + api good enough for me.
My stuff is algorithm intensive though, not much GUI needed.

it's too ridiculous to pay hundreds dollars for that.

they are free, hehe.
they don't have GUI wizard,since it doesn't make any sense to build GUI
like that in Java, you have to use LayoutManager for real products.
For Intellij, you can get a free license for 1 month per email address.
For Eclipse, it's totally free.

Until now, there is no GUI builder in IDEA, but the JetBrain guys have such
plan for IDEA 4.0.
IDEA is designed for hard code, so maybe you can try it.
I suggest it to many friends, they all love it.

IDEA is the best for server side programming and it's not expensive. Only $200
on promotion. Worth the money.

It's not only a IDE, but also a platform, that's why it's name is ECLIPSE.

I can't help wondering if it has to do with two facts -
Eclipse is an IBM-sponsored project; The company behind Java happens
to name Sun.
