Specific job responsibilities will include:
- Design and build large scale metrics systems used to track traffic from
search engines, trends in search terms, conversion and other key traffic
metrics.
- Design and build dynamic website components used to improve ranking and
indexing of web pages
- Design and build machine-learning systems to optimize the landing page
experience and improve sales conversion for free search traffic
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field,
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving,
and complexity analysis
• Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C,
C++, C#, Java, or Perl
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in CS strongly preferred
- Knowledge and experience with large scale map reduce based data processing
frameworks like Hadoop.
- Knowledge and experience with cloud services like Amazon EC2, Windows
Azure etc.
- Experience in building components of a large commercial search engine –
For eg crawling, indexing, run time query parsing, relevance ranking etc.
- Knowledge and experience with one of the following areas: machine learning
, data mining, computational statistics, statistical modeling, web analytics
, pattern recognition
- Hands-on experience on HTML, JavaScript and JQuery
- Experience with scripting languages Perl/Python in a Linux/Unix
environment
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
- Effective working in a team as well as independently
- Ability to rapidly assimilate existing systems and business concepts.
- Self-motivated, results oriented, effective communication skills.
- Industry experience in software development, focused on web services or
distributed system
- Experience and deep understanding on large scale data processing with SQL
or NOSQL systems
