Engineer - Software Engineer - New College Grad-120365
Seagate delivers advanced digital storage solutions to meet the needs of

The Seagate Global Firmware Infrastructure Team (GFIT) charter is to
continuously improve the effectiveness of Seagate's global firmware
development organization which collaborates on one of the most complex and
highly configurable code bases in the world. In order to meet these ongoing
challenges the Longmont, CO design center is hiring a Software Engineer.
The job scope requires in depth understanding of software development and
the ability to study teams within the worldwide firmware organization to
assess and pursue ways to better facilitate their efforts.
This position will require the understanding and support of Seagate’s
infrastructure software packages. This will include:
Software administration support that includes validating and releasing major
software upgrades and patches.
Gathering and documenting new software functionality.
Development, implementation and validation of new software functionality.
Communication and collaboration with other engineers at multiple Seagate
design centers.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information
Systems, and Information Technology.
0-4 years of software development experience.
Experience with computer science concepts and web-based software development
.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in Computer Science.
Previous internship experience.
Critical thinking capabilities to work through complex system level problems
and architect solutions.
Initiative to learn complex computer systems.
Must be able to collaborate with a highly skilled technical team to find
optimal solutions to our complex system problems.
Ability to pick up new concepts quickly and adapt systems and processes
accordingly.
People skills necessary to traverse and take into account the human aspects
involved when interacting with a global technical organization.
