Soon after I accepted the offer and came, the boss who hired me left. The
new boss came in 20 days later.
The first meeting with the new boss left no impression on me--neither
good or bad. I worked hard because I wanted greencard. He told me things
were with me. Two months later, he gave me a very negative evaluation. As a
result, I speeded up my process to get familar with my job. It usually takes
12 months. It took me 4 months. It surprised me when the associate director
told me:"we took some measures to speed up your process of getting to know
your job.".
NND, they treat internationals as machines. Things didn't stop here--they
continue to do this, but they would smile if Americans stay idle or do
nothing.
Right now, I have another potential offer. I am not sure what options to
go by: (1) tell the current boss that I am leaving as soon as I get the
offer, (2) work like a machine--> get a laid-off letter anytime with
negative comments.
If you were me, would you go by 1st option?
Last, will the laid-off letter with negative comments affect our future
job hunting or offer?
Any of your suggestions will be appreciated.
