听说engineer的base高过data scientist很多，是不是真的？

所有的公司(G,F,etc), engineer的base都比pure stat driven的data scientist高
CS driven的data engineer(opening很少), base就有可能高过一般的engineer

ds前景并不光明，等能写production真正的engineer开始做machine learning，ds就是

说老实话，你这你说的tcm ML跟你认为的non-tcm ML是五十步笑百步吧。non-tcm ml也
是效果说话，并不是遵从物理、数学等领域普遍存在的推理、应用逻辑，否则就不是叫
ML而是某某ics了。

真到那个时候，别说ds，连engineer的工作都不需要了吧

大部分engineer确实只写code，什么概率，矩阵，随机过程基本忘光了，但还是有不少
两样都行的，他们就能automate ml，把ml做入production。而大部分ds，只能写些
offline code，做些adhoc analysis

对。
data scientist名字好听，要求很高，但是大部分pure stat的data scientist其实跟
BI的data analyst区别不大，就出一些report而已。真正能出活的，最后还是engineer。

现在好像有很多egr都是有ml背景的。

影响不一样。两样都会的对engineer没太多impact，有ml feature对business是加分，
没有business也能运作，基础的production还是得大量engineer写，没法automate。
对ds就影响很大，中低端的ds的job基本会被这种两样都会的人automate。
当然真正大牛中的大牛ds，还是可以活得很好，毕竟最尖端的还需要人去分析，但本来
各行各业的顶层就都活得不错，差距在于中低层，谁活得好，谁会被homeless

其实要比较也应该是比较CS出生的Research Scientist和DS，大部分SDE每天工作就是
缝缝补补代码，根本没机会接触到business的东西的，所以才会慢慢的会的一点ml也忘
光了。
