This is a senior architect/research scientist position in our client's R&D
center at Silicon Valley focusing on design and development of next
generation networking platform based on new exciting SDN, NFV and Cloud
technology. The ideal candidate should have proven hands-on experience
in architecture and system design together with strong background in
software development. it is highly desirable to be familiar with key open
source projects in SDN and NFV. Members of this team will need
to collaborate with different groups of people in the company, and will be
developing various prototypes in fast and agile fashion. This is a great
opportunity to stay ahead and make an impact on fast-changing networking
industry.
Responsibilities
· Work on the architectures, technologies and protocols across many
networks segments such as wired and wireless. Develop detailed architecture,
functional and design specifications, and drive technical definition of
large projects that span multiple technologies and cross-functional teams.
· Work as an individual contributor, leading project efforts across
internal and external teams, contributing to the project and ensuring a
successful delivery on schedule.
· Work closely with internal customers (senior staff, executives) and
technology partners with innovative ideas and make them a reality.
Skills and Experience
· Ph.D or Masters or equivalent experience in Computer Science,EE,
data networking architectures, or closely related field. (CS, EE, CE).
· Exceptional coding skills in developing networking and distributed
systems in a product environment.
· Strong background with Linux. Proficient in C/C++ programming
language and working knowledge of Python. In-depth hands-on experience with
programming and scripting language, such as Python, Ruby, JAVA and others.
· 2+ years' experience in REST, YANG, OF like API a plus. Exposure to Micro
Services based architecture is highly desirable.
· 10+ years working experience with IP and switching networking protocols.
The ideal candidate will possess an expert level understanding of IP
networking and routing protocols.
· 2 years working experience with SDN and/or NFV (academic research also
counts)
· Familiar with open source software communities, such as open SDN
controller¿Experience with OpenStack and/or OPNFV is a plus.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to speak to
various technical and management levels.
· Excellent time and task management, and inter-personal skills.
· Willingness to travel 20%.
