My PD is March 2010 but I got laid off a few months ago. If I find another
job in the next few months and the new employer agrees to sponsor green card
,once I get new 140, can I submit 485 at that time? Thanks.

Why didnt u submit ur i485 when you are current now? You can do it yourself.

你被LAID OFF前，有没有搞到EVL？要是手里有不太老的EVL，自己FILE就行了，50/50
，试一下无妨。

At my previous job my PD was not current. My PD became current after I had
got laid off. As you know, PD now goes back to 2007. If I find a new job, I
have no idea whether I can submitt 485 once new 140 is approved.

No. You cannot since your PD will not be "current". I am sorry for your
situation.

Of course you CAN! It's still in April now. The cutoff date will retrogress
NEXT month. If you can make it in a couple of weeks (before May 1st). I
think you should be OK. The only issue is that you will get a RFE for EVL
fore sure since you will not have that in your current package. Be prepared
for that. Good luck!

employment verification letter，雇主开的。有了这个自己可以FILE 485。
你要是拍期CURRENT之前被雷了，就比较悲剧了。。。

I believe he/she needs to file another I-140. If she/he cannot get 140
approved by May 1st, 2012, then it is not possible to file 48.
