Her findings and other studies’ report that Montessori students have:
*more interest in learning,
*more self disciplined
*have a greater understanding of truth and fairness
*more creativity, especially in their writing
*are more independence
*a better understanding of concepts from grammar and story structure to
mathematical operations, algebra and geometry
*have a deep understanding of and how geography, history, social studies,
and science are all related.

If someone really wants to research please check if Angeline Lillard is
funded by Montessori organization. Compare my son (who went to a Montessori school between the age of 3-6) to myself at the same age. We are at comparable intelligence level and have similar math skills. But he is a much more disciplined and independent child. He has strong interests in History and Social Sciences where I had none at his age.
I still remember the things happened when I was 5. I read my share of books by the second grade (age 8). But there is no doubt my son is a better reader, while I was a little bit better on abstract logic. It was very clear neither of us is genius. The parents were not pushy at all in either case.
Some of these non-math, non-science knowledge of a child translate into courage, confidence, self-assurance, social skills, initiate and sustain a conversation, and the ability of researching on a topic. I felt if your children are strong in math and logic, the Montessori experience (including struggles) can make him/her into a more complete person.
